BACK TO NATURE

While 20 years ago the architects imagined future as a world where everything is made of plastic and latex, the opposite is true! Current trends in interior design clearly show the increasing popularity of natural materials, real wood and stone decorations.

Nature all around us... We could describe residential designers' philosophy of today's world like this. The basis for inspiration in traditionalism has been especially Norway and the Nordic countries where the interior architecture has always been based on genuine and solid materials. A pleasant atmosphere of subtle and not gaudy colors in combination with stone and wood has became in recent years the most popular among households and large companies that also gradually reconstruct their office space in this spirit of a modern trendy interior.

Natural decor is based primarily on the use of stone as a practical and decorative element of the interior. The most versatile roofing is often slate which can provide perfect effect, quality, and also economic accessibility. Slate is nothing new in interior design. It has been used for a long time by architects primarily as a full-fledged replacement for real marble in the bathrooms and for flooring, but of course it offers more colors and more ways of use.

In addition to the classic floor surface, slate has been in recent years used primarily as an unusual decorative variation of walls – immediately brightening up the room and creating a feeling of absolute balance. The modern trend is also getting a "faux" fireplace, often controlled by a remote control. For a perfect effect you only need to face the area of the fireplace with an impressive slate stone mosaic - the room almost immediately transforms beyond recognition.

The popularity of the trend which combines modern living with the elements of nature is recognized by experts also for its practicality. "It is not an absolutely true that the natural decor is becoming trendy again, the reality is rather that natural facings have never gone out of fashion. People like to invest in timeless things when it comes to their homes, therefore our customers are very satisfied with the range of products," says Roman Hajabáč, the owner of the Česká břidlice company.
