THE NATIONAL THEATRE

The building of the National Theatre was a completion of the efforts of the Czech revivalists and the Czech lands thus acquired a permanent Czech theater scene. The National Theatre on the Vltava River's bank in Prague became the symbol of Czech national pride. In 1867 began the construction works, by the end of 1868 were built the foundations and in 1877 the roof covered with slate was finished. The National Theatre was first opened on June 11, 1881.

CATHEDRAL OF ST. VITUS, ST. WENCESLAS AND ST. ADALBERT

It is a three-nave Gothic cathedral with three towers and a residential church of the Archbishop of Prague. The cathedral was at the beginning built from stone, with slate used as roofing of the choir.
